This MicroSite is the result of the current researches and developements of the GeoSat ReSeArch Lab.
The case studies shown in these pages are presented with the only goal to quickly illustrate some of the potentials of aerial photography and photogrammetry in archaeology in their application to mountainous landscape or hardly accessible (and documentable) archaeological places.
The greatest part of the results here have been achieved by Dr. Gianluca Cantoro, with the scientific supervision and technical support of the staff of the laboratory, during his PostDoc research period at the Institute for Mediterranean Studies between October 2011 and September 2012.
As part of the project program, open source and/or free software have been tested and compared with professional commercial ones.
